From Masala Moments to Patriotism: ‘Tiger 3’ Serves Bollywood at Its Best
The release of Salman Khan’s star-studded film “Tiger 3” on Diwali. This is good news for Salman Khan’s fans. Tiger 3 is the third film in this franchise and is also a part of the YRF spy universe, which includes films like “Just My Way” and “Pathan”. Apart from Salman and Katrina, it features Imran Hashmi, Shahrukh Khan in a special appearance and a scene with Hrithik Roshan.
Directed by Amneesh Sarma, the film has all the masala that should be in a Salman Khan movie. The film features three main characters: the villain Atish Rahman (Imran Hashmi), the hero Tiger (Salman Khan), and the heroine Zoya (Katrina Kaif, playing Tiger’s wife).
The story of the film is quite simple and doesn’t require too much brainpower. The villain Atish Rahman is a Pakistani terrorist who threatens Tiger and Zoya, demanding that Tiger do as he says. Otherwise, he will harm Atish Rahman’s son. Whether Tiger and Zoya agree or not, and what they do, forms the crux of the story. The film revolves around the relations between India and Pakistan, focusing on the personal conflict between Tiger and Atish Rahman. Tiger and Zoya have to decide whether or not to believe Atish Rahman’s words and what actions to take. The entire film’s narrative is built around this concept, and revealing more would spoil the experience for the audience.
Apart from Salman and Katrina, the film features Imran Hashmi in a special appearance, but it’s hard to pick out any memorable character from him. Going beyond that, the film has all the masala elements that one would expect in a typical Bollywood film. Salman Khan’s fans can enjoy the film even after Diwali.
What some of our famous film critics in the country say and what ratings they give:
Times of India (Rounak Kotecha):
3 stars out of 5. He gives the film three stars and says, “Be happy, Bhai’s fans, because the film has a lot of action and many twists in the story that will excite you. The character of Katrina Kaif is well written, and Imran Hashmi has played his role very well, although no character can be called memorable. Overall, the film has all the spices that should be in a Salman Khan film.”
8 stars out of 10. Overall, the movie is good to watch and a well-packed popcorn action entertainer.
India Today (Tushar Joshi):
Salman Khan does not take too long to get into the skin of Tiger. This time Tiger is sharper and more aware than the two earlier parts of this franchise, “Ek Tha Tiger” and “Tiger Zinda Hai”. Imran Hashmi’s character is well-defined. Tiger 3 gives Imran Hashmi the glory he deserves. Katrina Kaif as Zoya is insanely good. In Tiger 3, she gets an extended back story and much more depth to her character. Tushar says that Katrina definitely deserves her own franchise.
